Flavour of Shetland 2010

During the four-day Flavour of Shetland event in Lerwick, which gives locals and visitors a taste of Shetland's food, music, craft and culture, festival goers could enjoy delicious seafood dishes prepared at the 'Seafood Shack'.

The menu included:
Shetland salmon (Cajun style, sweet chilli, teriyaki glaze or Thai spiced);
Spicy seafood Creole soup;
Hot maple smoked salmon wraps;
Yell crabmeat salad;
and sweet chilli king scallops.

Glynn Wright, who ran the Seafood Shack, said: “I've sold out of scallops, crab salad and hot smoked salmon wraps. Being part of Flavour of Shetland is certainly worthwhile. It gives my students at Shetland College the opportunity to put what they've learned into practice – it's a great real-life experience for them.

“It's also an excellent way to illustrate and demonstrate how to do different things with seafood, such as paella and fish curry. I'm giving people the chance to try a taste of seafood at a reasonable price and hopefully it will encourage them to go home and try new recipes for themselves."
