Seafood Shetland was formed in 2003 following the amalgamation of Shetland Fish Processors' Association (SFPA) and Shetland Shellfish Growers' Association (SSGA).
The new organisation represents the interests of 43 companies involved in all aspects of fish processing and shellfish growing, including 95 per cent of Shetland's shellfish farmers.
All year round, Shetland seafood is exported throughout the world. Excellent handling, processing and distribution methods guarantee that products arrive in prime condition.
As well as farming, harvesting, and supplying fish and shellfish to every corner of the globe, outstanding, award-winning Seafood Shetland processors have created some of the finest and most innovative products available.
Shetland's shellfish industry is moving from strength to strength, with North Atlantic Shellfish Ltd scooping the Business Development Award at the distinguished Crown Estate Scottish Marine Aquaculture Awards 2008.
